When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. An undercurrent of danger runs through the town — the trucks on the road outside their home travel just a little too fast, as evidenced by the makeshift pet graveyard in the nearby woods where local children have long buried their animals.
