Brave New World is set in a futuristic society where humans are genetically engineered and conditioned to maintain a rigid social order. In this world, stability and happiness are achieved through strict control, mass production, and the use of a drug called soma that eliminates pain and emotion. The story follows Bernard Marx, who feels out of place in this controlled society, and John “the Savage,” who was raised outside this system and introduced into it later. As John confronts this artificial world, he struggles with its loss of individuality, freedom, and genuine human experience. The novel explores themes of technology, control, freedom, individuality, and the cost of a perfectly ordered society.
